Ontario Competitors earn spot on Team Canada at ITF Taekwon-Do Nationals in Longueil, Quebec June 2-3 2017!

Congratulations to all Ontario students who competed in the ITF Taekwon-Do Nationals June 2-3, 2017! You made our province proud.

President of OTFI, Mr. Diego Cabanas, was named Assistant Coach of the National Team for the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships.

Eight Ontario black belts earned a spot to represent Canada at the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships in Dublin, Ireland, October 9-15 2017:

  • Arashdeep Shergill (Peel Taekwon-Do) – Junior Boys <50 kg Sparring
  • Cameron Clarke (Kou’s Taekwon-Do) – Junior Boys 3rd dan Patterns, Junior Boys >75 kg Sparring
  • Cassandra Chabert (ARCAN Taekwon-Do) – Junior Girls <55 kg Sparring, Junior Girls Team Sparring/Breaking
  • Lisa Perry (ARCAN Taekwon-Do) – Women’s 3rd dan Patterns, Women’s <62 kg Sparring, Women’s Specialty Breaking, Women’s Team Sparring/Breaking, Best Overall Female Athlete
  • Noah Young (Friendly City Taekwon-Do) – Junior Boys 1st dan Patterms, Junior Boys <68 kg Sparring, Junior Boys Specialty Breaking, Junior Boys Team Sparring/Breaking, Best Overall Junior Male Athlete
  • Pawandeep Birdi (Peel Taekwon-Do) – Junior Girls <55 kg Sparring
  • Silkander Singh Kang (Peel Taekwon-Do) – Junior Boys <56 kg Sparring
  • Tanus Gallant (Kou’s Taekwon-Do) – Junior Boys <75 kg Sparring, Junior Boys Team Sparring/Breaking
